Hunter Thunell
President, Chief Commercial Officer and co-founder

Hunter has spent his entire career in energy-related business development, corporate development and banking roles. Prior to co-founding Cavalcade, Hunter most recently focused on all strategic and new producer relationships for NuStar Energy in the Permian Basin. 

Previously, he worked in NuStar’s Corporate Development group and spearheaded all aspects of NuStar’s domestic and international M&A activity. Hunter played an integral role in the $1.5 billion acquisition, and related debt and equity financing, of Navigator Energy Services. Prior to NuStar, Hunter worked for both Bank of America and Bank of Tokyo, specializing in Oil & Gas and Natural Resources.

Hunter is Immediate Past President of the Young Professionals in Energy San Antonio chapter. Hunter holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Brown University, where he was a member of the Division 1 Men’s Hockey Program.
